Melnyk has been the problem for a very long time. The Ottawa media is just beginning to catch up with the fans. November 27 is the meeting date with the NCC and a next level decision for a go on the new LeBretton arena. I don't see Melnyk leaving until the final approvals are given on LeBretton. But, a go decision on Nov 27 would be a very positive step forward.

i hate melnyk, he should be forced to sell the team, but he has every right to not allow reporters on his planes/buses/arena, and that is not silencing them, reporters and the media do not have a right to to be on the planes/buses/arena. Melnyk is not preventing them from writing articles about the sens, he is not stopping them from appearing on TSN or Sportnet or any other sports news channel. and i will call any dishonest liar who tries to say that by not allowing report(s) access to the team is ":silencing" them...

Belleville beat Marlies 7-6. Game was available through facebook. Watched the third period. Batherson had a monster game. He looks like he is ready to step up. He had 1 goal and 5 assists on the night and is now tied for the AHL lead in scoring.

Even the sped up footage isn't that bad, it's not like he intentionally pushed or caused her harm. Realistically, if anything remotely close to assault occured in the white house with the secret service and the president in close proximity, they would do much more than revoke the press pass at a later date. It's an obvious attempt to silence Acosta and assert control over the media, which the Turmp administration has done since the campaign.

The interpretations of this video are in North Korean territory, people are one step away from referring to Trump as a divine figure, if they haven't been already.

That is not what assault is, and not allowing the press is literally what a dictatorship would look like.

As to Melnyk, he needs to do likewise: grow up. Regardless of whether he has the right to limit reporter access (he does) his actions are, at best, juvenile and petulent. The guy went total Eric Cartman: "Screw you guys, I'm going home!"

That is precisely how a spoiled, thin-skinned rich boy with an underdeveloped (or non-functional) anterior cingulate cortex responds to criticism. An adult either accepts blame and fixes the issues or confronts unwarranted criticism (which this is clearly not). Abuse of power (as evidenced by no other NHL owner attempting to do this) in an attempt (successful or otherwise) to silence or control critics is the opposite of that.
